Day 6 - 30 Paintings in 30 days - Happy Snowman

Last 5 days I did fruits, and I wanted to change. I had three goals in mind when I started this challenge. The first goal was to finish a painting in one sitting. Second was to start with basic rounded shapes, so I had the fruits. These were done exactly the same way as in Susan Sarback's workshop I attended couple years ago. And so far I have done setups for all these paintings similar to one shown below. Third was to do some small holiday paintings! So here it is - a Happy Snowman:

And BTW, this happy snowman was made by my younger daughter in her 5th Grade Holiday project, she is very happy that her project got so much importance!

Day 5 - 30 Paintings in 30 days - Apple

Yesterday I had asked what fruit should I paint on blogger as well as facebook. I got quite a few responses - fig, pomogranate, grapes etc. All of these fruits are on my list. In fact I have a pomogranate on the tree in my backyard, hope to paint that plein air! For today's painting, I picked an apple from our neighbor's tree and used that to set up for my painting. At first I thought that it will be too boring to paint, but I actually had lot of fun! Here it is..

Juicy Orange with its reflection! To make it interesting, in my setup I placed a glass on the cloth and then the Orange. It was fun to paint the reflection. And now I am ready to make Orange juice!

Day 2 - 30 Paintings in 30 days - Watermelon

Quench your thirst with this juicy watermelon!
We have an "ant attack" at home. So after I set up this still life, I had hard time preventing ants to crawl even nearby the setup.
I am doing a small series of fruits as you might have guessed. Lets see what I can do tomorrow...

All paintings are for sale, contact me for purchasing information on preranap@hotmail.com.

Calla Trio

I am teaching one day workshop this Saturday to a group of friends. Painting a Vase with flowers was requested for this painting project. We wanted something simple and identified a photo from Wetcanvas Reference Library that seemed simple to do. So this is how the completed painting will look like:
